Resident Director-Manipal, India

The Alliance for Global Education, a division of IFSA-Butler, is seeking a Resident Director for its Manipal (Karnataka), India program. The start date for this position is July 2017, and the successful candidate must have the legal right to work in India. The RD is responsible for the management and development of the Global and Public Health program based at Manipal University. Primary responsibilities include assisting students with academic advising and adjustment to life in India, serving as a liaison between the host university in India, the students and the U.S. staff, and overseeing the ongoing development and implementation of orientation, the academic curriculum, activities and excursions.

The RD serves as a cultural resource to students during their time in India. S/he will meet with students, administrators, and teaching faculty on a regular basis. The RD will also be responsible for managing the Alliance Manipal office and its operating budget. An important part of the RD's job entails facilitating ongoing interaction between the American students and Indian students. The position requires strong leadership and interpersonal skills, and the ability to successfully manage ambiguity and adapt to change. The RD works closely with the Director for India Programs and the U.S.-based Program Management and Development team on all aspects of program management. The position reports to the Director of India Programs located in Pune.

Academic and Special Projects Assistant

IFSA-Butler is seeking an Academic and Special Projects Assistant. This position reports to the Associate Director, Academic and Special Projects and is responsible for providing support for academic integration initiatives on behalf of our partner institutions. The assistant also supports special projects and initiatives as needed by the president and provides assistance to the Board of Trustees.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Research and Conduct Academic Integration Initiatives (75%)

  • Assist with academic projects and course equivalency requests.
  • Research foreign partner course offerings and document information to share results with campus constituents.

Provide support for special projects and initiatives (15%)

  • Assist with research, data entry and analysis, and reporting for a wide range of projects. Draft correspondence, reports, and presentations as needed.

Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

IFSA-Butler is seeking a Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The Vice President and CFO is responsible for all financial and fiscal management aspects of the IFSA global operations. Additionally, the CFO must provide proactive leadership and coordination in the Strategic Business Planning, Controllership, Human Resources, Accounting, Treasury, Internal Control and Compliance efforts of the company across its US and foreign office study abroad program support locations.

Essential Responsibilities

Executive Management & Strategic Business Planning

  • Works with the President and CEO to assess organizational performance against both the company’s long-term strategy and the annual budget.  
  • Develops tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the President and CEO and makes actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations.  
  • Coordinates preparation of the company’s annual budget and mid-year revised forecast.  
  • Serves as a member of executive leadership team; participates in Board meetings and Foreign Currency Hedging sub-committee and Audit sub-committee meetings; participates in key decisions pertaining to strategic initiatives, operating model and operational execution.
