Melbourne Named Most Liveable City-Again!

The city of Melbourne, Australia has once again been named by World's Most Liveable City by the Economist Intelligence Unit's (EIU) Global Livability Survey. Melbourne has received this top honor for three years straight. The ratings of cities worldwide were based on stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education and infrastructure.

IFSA-Butler offers two outstanding programs in Melbourne: Monash University and the University of Melbourne. Both are top-ranked universities that offer a huge range of subjects and terrific student support.

Spring 2016 Cuba Program Nearly Full

Students and study abroad advisors should be aware that our spring 2016 program in Havana, Cuba, is nearly full already. We are negotiating for additional spaces with Universidad de La Habana, but we still anticipate reaching our enrollment cap well before the application deadline.

We will evaluate our Cuba applications on a rolling basis. Once accepted, in order to hold their spot, students must return their program contract and deposit and submit a copy of their passport and several Cuba-specific travel forms within two weeks.

Contact our Cuba program advisor with any questions.

IFSA-Butler Wins GoAbroad Diversity Award

IFSA-Butler has won the 2015 Innovation in Diversity award from GoAbroad. The award was for our UpFront program, which bills certain out-of-pocket study abroad expenses to a student's account so that the student can pay the costs via our monthly payment plan, or with financial aid. This innovative service helps participants and their parents overcome the burden of excessive expenses before study abroad.

In addition, Wake Forest University student Chelsea Tamura, who attended our program at the University of Edinburgh, won GoAbroad's award for Innovative Student Video. Click here to view Chelsea's video.

Congratulations to Chelsea, and thanks to all IFSA-Butler staff who are working to promote the cause of diversity in study abroad!
