Staff Presentation Wins Regional Highlight
IFSA-Butler congratulates Assistant Director for Communications Kathy Walden, whose session at the NAFSA Region IV conference in November won the Regional Highlight. The session, "Cost Effective Web-Based Student Outreach," focused on marketing tools such as Facebook, Twitter, search engine optimization, Google analytics, and more. Kathy and co-presenters Jeremy Pieper of the University of Minnesota and Julia Wheeler of DIS will present the session again at the NAFSA Annual Conference in May.
 
Field Director Hosts Sessions at Region VI
Field Director Opal Leeman Bartzis hosted a professional development workshop, "Academic Ethics Across Cultures," at the NAFSA Region VI conference in November. At the conference she also chaired a session titled "International Education Leadership Colloquium: A Frank Discussion with Experienced Professionals."
 
Staff Presentation Nominated for Regional Highlight
Congratulations to Program Advisor Eryn Espín-Kudzinski and Academic Affairs Coordinator Lisa Burg, whose session during the NAFSA Region VI conference was nominated for the Regional Highlight award. Eryn and Lisa presented the session, "Taking to the Streets: Study Abroad in the Midst of University Protest," along with Marne Ausec, director of international education at Kenyon College.
