IFSA-Butler Donates to Battered Women's Shelter

IFSA-Butler's Indianapolis staff recently held a Winter Tea for all the tenants in the building where our office is located. Program Advisor David Watkins organized the tea and asked attendees to bring donations of toiletries and other necessities for Coburn Place, a battered women's shelter. IFSA-Butler and our fellow building tenants ended up donating seven boxes to Coburn!

Michelle Tolan Chosen as Panelist for NAFSA Online Discussion

Field Director for Diversity Access and Research Michelle Tolan has been selected as a panelist for NAFSA's Live Collegial Conversation - Support and Success for First-Generation Students in Education Abroad. This online discussion for study abroad advisors will focus on underrepresented students and outline existing programs and support strategies for first-generation college students.

She spearheaded IFSA-Butler's First Generation Scholars Program, which provides scholarships and additional support for first generation college students, as well as IFSA-Butler's Fill the GAP program, which allows students to begin saving for study abroad as early as their freshman year in college.

IFSA-Butler Collects Donations to Women's Shelter

ifsa-coburn3IFSA-Butler's Indianapolis staff recently held a Winter Tea for all the tenants in the building where our office is located. Program Advisor Laura Wallman organized the tea and asked attendees to bring donations of food, clothing, toiletries, diapers and other necessities for Coburn Place, a battered women's shelter.

The donations were so plentiful that they had to be transported to the shelter in two large vehicles. Staff at Coburn Place were extremely grateful for the donations. They even mentioned and thanked us on their Facebook page.
