Biography

Patricia Pryor is a graduate of Florida A&M University, in Tallahassee, Florida. She graduated magna cum laude with both her Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master’s in Business Administration. She has been a practicing Certified Public Accountant for more than 25 years. She also has received the Level II Not-For-Profit Certification from the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants.

She began her career with Deloitte & Touche, where she worked for more than 15 years in various roles. She lead the Deloitte Atlanta office’s higher education, not-for-profit and government practice and was the Southeast Compliance Audit Specialist for the firm on federal grant compliance. In 2007 she joined Cherry Bekaert, LLP to lead the Georgia and South Carolina not-for-profit and education practice. She became an Audit partner in 2009 and then an Audit Director in 2019.

She currently serves clients in the not-for-profit and educational industries providing various services from audit, digital advisory, tax and other value-added services. Her client base is made up of public and private universities, K-12 schools, social service and educational related not-for-profits, and governments.

Her current and past activities include:

  • Past Treasurer on various not-for-profit boards
  • Member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants
  • Member of the National Association of College and University Business Officers and Southern Association of College and University Business Officers
  • AICPA Peer Reviewer
  • Professional volunteer on the Peer Review Teams of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, which accredits Business and Accounting programs in the United States and internationally.

Patricia is married to her husband of more than 30 years, James Pryor. They have two children: Jamaal who recently married his love of his life Lauren, a graduate of North Greenville University where he received his undergraduate in Sports Management and a Master’s in Business Administration and Jared, a junior at Kennesaw State University, major still undecided at this time. As a family, we enjoy traveling, sports activities, caring for our dogs and spending time with family.
