  3. Exclusive: Two new options in Sri Lanka

October 25, 2021

Starting in Spring 2022, adventurous students have two new ways to explore this intriguing island and its distinctive culture, remarkable arts and crafts, and beautiful spice and tea plantations. As the only provider to offer study abroad here, we’re thrilled to introduce our new IFSA Study in Sri Lanka program, plus the redesigned IFSA Study in Sri Lanka: Research (previously our Intercollegiate Sri Lanka Education-ISLE program).

Academic options: University of Peradeniya professors help students pursue their interests in the environment, teaching, NGO work, region, anthropology, and Fulbright research. Independent projects offer another way to zero-in on a local tradition or custom.

Directed research: IFSA Study in Sri Lanka: Research includes amazing opportunities for field research with local partners like Dilmah Conservation, whose work includes conserving marine habitats and endangered species, establishing eco-friendly tea gardens, empowering indigenous communities, and more.

Flexibility: No language requirement, but plenty of opportunities to learn Sinhala or Tamil.

Family homestays: The ideal way to connect with Sri Lankan people and get to know their deeply rooted customs.
