My Advising Topics

Congratulations on choosing to study abroad! You are setting yourself apart from your peers by being among the 16% of college students who choose this experience. We know that it comes with potential concerns, though. As you prepare for your time abroad, what topics do you need to prepare for in advance? How can you plan now so you are ready when your study abroad experience begins?

As part of your preparation, you will likely meet with a study abroad advisor at your college or university as well as an IFSA program advisor. Both can be excellent resources to openly discuss these issues. Your advisors can help you identify programs that align to your needs or they can help you create strategies to turn challenges into opportunities.

Choose the topics that resonate with you. Then, if you'd like, take some notes in the space provided. This is your workspace, and you can always edit your ideas.

Your Advising Topics will be visible to your home school study abroad advisor for the purpose of assisting and advising you throughout the application and pre-arrival process. If you would rather they not see your Advising Topics and notes, please indicate that here:
