“From afar, the world can seem much scarier and more intimidating than it is. It’s nice to help new travelers navigate bumps while they learn that.”
Education
Blake has a bachelor’s degree in communication studies and a master’s degree in public administration. He earned both from Sonoma State University, which he chose using an atlas.
Travel Experience
Blake found his first regular overseas travels on U.S. Navy ships a tough way to see the world. Undeterred, since then he’s journeyed to more than 30 countries through the Peace Corps, international work, and independent travel. He’s lived in Lithuania, Afghanistan, Jordan, and Germany, as well as eight U.S states, and once walked from Georgia to Maine.
Did You Know?
In the summer, Blake turns his partner Beth’s abundant cucumber crops into some mean pickles.
