Headshot of Michelle Freney

“My study abroad experience in France changed my life. It gave me a greater appreciation for other cultures and languages, it introduced me to the world of travel while at the same time, introducing me to myself and the person I wanted to be. Ever since then, I’ve been working with students, encouraging them to go see this beautiful wide world.”

Education

Michelle has been working in the international education sector since graduating from the University of Wollongong with a Bachelor of Arts in French and Global Studies in 2003. She came home from her own international exchange experience with a huge passion for the program! Michelle also holds a graduate diploma in secondary teaching (French and English) and recently completed her yogalates (a blend of yoga and Pilates) teacher training certification. She is currently studying for a double diploma in kinesiology and mind body medicine.

Travel Experience

Michelle has traveled extensively—taking nine months off in 2012 and a full year in 2014-15 to travel the world. She has been to 56 countries and her list of places to visit seems to get longer, rather than shorter, every year.

Did You Know?

Michelle has danced since she could walk and loves ballet and theatre. She is also obsessed with “Survivor.”
