“Language is the lens through which culture is both encoded and decoded. At IFSA I most enjoy developing and supporting programs in non-English-speaking locations that cultivate not only foreign language skills but also intercultural and professional skills in our students.”
Education
Teresa earned her master’s degree in International Training and Education through a Graduate Merit Fellowship from American University, building upon her bachelor’s degree in French and International Studies from Indiana University Bloomington.
Travel Experience
Spanning over 20 countries and 35 U.S. states, Teresa’s travels have been tied to a variety of roles throughout her life, including choral singer, university exchange student, apartment mover, WWOOFer, education professional, and heritage seeker. However, it’s her academic year abroad studying French and Italian language and culture in Aix-en-Provence, France that solidified her life-long love of learning and awakened her approach to cross-cultural communication.
Did You Know?
One of Teresa’s most prized possessions is her LEGO model of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater, quite possibly her favorite place in North America.
