Daniella Widdows, Ph.D.
Biography
Daniella Widdows is Director of Global Education and Study Abroad at Hampden-Sydney College, a small liberal arts college for men in rural Virginia. She administers the college’s international student population, faculty-led programs, and over 100 study abroad and study away programs in 30 countries.
Daniella came to Hampden-Sydney in 2007 as an assistant professor of Classics and taught in the department for 7 years, including one year serving as department chair, before becoming the director of Global Education.
Born in Canada, Daniella also lived in Australia and England before moving to the United States. While pursuing her B.A. at Oberlin College, she spent a semester abroad studying at the Intercollegiate Center for Classical Studies in Rome, Italy. She holds an M.A. in Greek from Indiana University and a Ph.D. in Classics and certificate in Gender Studies from the University of Southern California.
