Michelle Coughlan
“I believe the best way to understand other cultures is to live within them —sometimes outside of our comfort zones. Study abroad gives that opportunity for students, and teaches them, alongside their academics, to be interculturally agile and open to perspectives they might not have had before. Being able to help facilitate and support this learning is an honor.”
Education
Michelle holds a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies, Journalism and Digital Arts from Saint Michael’s College in Vermont and a Masters of Science in International Tourism Management from Edinburgh Napier University.
Travel Experience
Growing up traveling the world with her family sparked a love of other cultures for Michelle. As an undergrad, she studied abroad with IFSA at the University of Edinburgh in 2013. It was the enduring impact of her study abroad experience that lead her to study for her masters in Edinburgh, and she now resides in the city with her husband, Paul.
