“Education is a holistic, experiential, and iterative endeavor that helps us craft our individual identities, and find our place in the world. For me, exploring the world and experiencing other ways of being brings personal fulfillment, and gives me the tools to navigate our modern, global society. I love my work in the field of higher education, and study abroad in particular, because I get to play a small part in students’ personal journeys of discovery and contribute to bringing us all just a little closer together.”
Education
Nathan holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and East Asian Studies from Denison University, as well as a Master of Arts in International Education Management from the Middlebury Institute for International Studies at Monterey.
Travel Experience
Life-long interests in history, language, and culture first led Nathan to venture abroad as an undergrad when he had an opportunity to join a U.S. State Department exchange program celebrating 30 years of diplomatic relations between the U.S. and China. Following this experience, he returned to China to study abroad in Nanjing, and traveled extensively around the country during his time there. He has also traveled to several countries in Europe (Croatia, France, Italy, Scotland, and Spain), as well as domestically throughout the U.S.
Did You Know?
Nathan loves to garden and landscape, and will spend as much free time as he can muster working in the yard.
