Niki obtained her Bachelor of Science in Communication from Cornell University, where an intercultural communication class in her final semester led her to pursue her master’s degree in intercultural relations from the University of the Pacific. She completed her doctorate in education from the University of Cambridge, where her thesis focused on the effect of study abroad on African American women’s identities.
The daughter of two U.S. Army soldiers, Niki caught the travel bug early having lived in 13 U.S. states and four European countries. Her education, work, and wanderlust have taken her around the globe from the pyramids of Giza to the majestic landscapes of New Zealand’s South Island.
