“The ability to let go of our preconceptions and embrace change is one of the most powerful tools in our toolbox, and immersing oneself in an unfamiliar country provides the perfect training ground for this. The best part is that when we open our minds enough to truly discover and learn a foreign environment, we often end up discovering ourselves more deeply along the way.”
Nikila earned her bachelor’s degree with honors in neuroscience from the University of Melbourne. She is currently working toward a master’s degree in global health at the University of Sydney.
Growing up, Nikila spent a significant amount of time in Asia including Sri Lanka, where half of her family is from. While in college, she was lucky enough to spend six months in Bordeaux, France studying, exploring Europe and Northern Africa, making friends from around the world, and learning how to adapt and thrive in a foreign environment. Her next frontier will be the United States and Mexico!
