“I work in international education to help foster curiosity, empathy, and humility in students, and to further social justice, equity, and liberation worldwide.”
Education
Peter earned his bachelor’s degree from Lewis & Clark College in foreign languages and literature, with a primary focus on German and a secondary focus on Russian, as well as a minor in gender studies. He spent his junior year abroad studying at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich, Germany. Peter pursued his master’s degree in international education management with a specialization in foreign language teaching at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies.
Travel Experience
Peter’s first experience with cultural immersion wasn’t actually abroad, but rather in the Northern Woods of Minnesota at Waldsee, the German language summer camp run by Concordia Language Villages. He later studied abroad in Munich, Germany and taught English with the Fulbright Commission in rural Austria. For three years Peter led experiential international programs for three years with high school, gap year, and undergraduate students in Argentina, Cambodia, Ecuador, Germany, Ghana, Guatemala, Morocco, Peru, The Netherlands, South Africa, Thailand, United States, and Vietnam.
