“Education has had an unmeasurably profound effect on my life and I believe wholeheartedly in it’s importance and impact. I joined IFSA because I found that experience and belief echoed in their four foundational commitments. I’m honored to be a part of such an exceptionally mission-driven organization with an unwavering dedication to keeping those commitments at the heart of everything they do.”
Education
Lia graduated from Indiana University East with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in anthropology. She earned her master’s degree from Fitchburg State University with a concentration in human resource management. She is also a senior certified professional with the Society Human Resource Management (SHRM-SCP).
Travel Experience
Lia wasn’t able to study abroad in the traditional sense, though it was always her dream. Instead, she took every domestic U.S. academic travel opportunity she could. This included everything from summer trips to South Carolina, Missouri, Arkansas, and Wyoming, to weekend field trips to places like the University of Tennessee Forensic Anthropology Center in Knoxville.
Did You Know?
Lia is an amateur preservationist that spends the majority of her free time working on restoring the 1867 gothic revival home that she and her husband own in Hagerstown, Indiana.
