Lauren Ruszczyk

Biography

Lauren Ruszczyk has more than 15 years of “hat-wearing” experience in the field spanning responsibilities from student advising, program development, change management, DEI, fundraising, budgeting, risk management, outreach, and enrollment management. As the Senior Associate Director of Education Abroad at the University of Maryland, she directs a fantastic team of 10 staff and activates strategic opportunities to expand access to and tell the story of global learning for a diverse and multi-faceted student body at UMD. Lauren is passionate about organization and talent development, and holds a master’s in industrial and organizational psychology.

When she’s not globetrotting, she’s home in Washington, D.C. and spends most of her time outside and active, playing soccer, training for a 200-mile Ragnar relay, picking up materials at Home Depot for a home improvement project, or continuing on her quest to find the best ice cream in the D.C. metro area.
