“The unique value of a study abroad experience, and one of the greatest satisfactions for an international educator, is when students overcome their initial hesitations and gradually become familiar with a different culture and language. They start acting as temporary citizens (not just visitors), until a previously foreign place becomes an important part of their own identity.”
Education
Francesco graduated from the Università di Perugia with a concentration in foreign languages and literatures. He holds a doctorate in comparative literatures and arts from the Università di Chieti-Pescara.
Travel Experience
As an undergraduate student, Francesco spent a year abroad in Salzburg, Austria from where he returned with lifelong friendships and the resolution to start a career in international education. Since then, he has traveled extensively in Europe and North America.
Did You Know?
Along with a few friends from his hometown in the Apennines, Francesco occasionally plays guitar in a wedding band.
