Jill Reister, Ph.D.

Biography

Jill Reister is the Assistant Director of Programming at the University of Minnesota Learning Abroad Center, overseeing affiliate programs and supervising a large team of program advisers. Prior to joining the Learning Abroad Center in 2015, she worked at the University of Cincinnati for more than a decade. Jill holds a doctorate in educational studies from the University of Cincinnati where her research focused on students who choose to study abroad in non-traditional destinations.

Jill grew up outside of Chicago and studied abroad in Argentina, Luxembourg, Spain, and New Zealand. An active member of The Forum on Education Abroad, the Global Leadership League, and NAFSA, she joined the IFSA Strategic Advisory Council in the summer of 2023. In her free time, Jill loves exploring the many lakes and trails of Minnesota with her husband, kids, and dog.
