“I’m passionate about international education because it helped me uncover parts of myself only visible through another culture’s lens. I want more students to have this transformative experience—one that fosters empathy and moves us closer to global peace.”
Education
Kokayi Postell earned his bachelor’s degree in African Studies from Emory University, where his passion for culture and movement took center stage. In his final year, he embarked on a transformative year-long program at the University of Ghana, diving deep into Twi language, Ghanaian dance traditions, pre-colonial history, and African literature. From classroom to dance floor, Kokayi blends scholarship with rhythm, embodying the spirit of Afro-cultural exploration.
Travel Experience
After completing a year of immersive studies in Ghana, Kokayi extended his stay for six more years—fully embracing the culture, community, and coastline until he proudly became a Ghanaian citizen. His global journey didn’t stop there: Kokayi went on to lead youth programs in the Dominican Republic and explore the vibrant landscapes of Mexico, Chile, and Peru, always moving with purpose and rhythm.
Did You Know?
When Kokayi eats, he sweats only on the right side of his face—thanks to some quirky nerve rewiring from a spinal fusion surgery he had as a teen. His body’s got its own rhythm, even when it comes to lunch!
