Headshot of Valeria Guemez Graniel

“I am excited and committed to support students to get the most out of their study abroad, not only academically but also as a sociocultural experience: that is, to practice systematic wonder at a new culture in which the meanings given to everyday life are different from what is known.”

Valeria earned her master’s degree in public policy and administration at the Center for Research and Teaching in Economics (CIDE), building upon her bachelor’s degree in social anthropology at the Autonomous University of Yucatán.

Travel Experience

Valeria’s first educational experiences abroad were in the U.S. where she participated in leadership workshops and community educational projects in Fort Collins, Colorado; Brattleboro, Vermont; Washington D.C.; and Seattle. She had a deeper cultural immersion by studying for a semester in Seoul, South Korea.
