Tina Brown-Ellacott
“International education has been a transformative force in my own life, and I’m passionate about sharing that experience with others. From New Caledonia to Japan, I have seen firsthand how it can broaden horizons, foster cultural understanding, and open doors to new opportunities. It’s incredibly fulfilling to witness the positive impact it has on students’ lives, which is why I joined IFSA.”
Education
Tina holds a bachelor’s degree in international studies, majoring in international relations and Japanese from the University of Queensland. She chose this degree out of her passion for languages and was excited about the opportunity to enhance her skills while studying abroad.
Travel Experience
Tina grew up in Australia but has frequently traveled to French Polynesia since she was three years old because her mother is from Tahiti. Her travels from a young age have taken her across Europe, the U.S., and the Asia-Pacific region, with many more destinations on her bucket list. Although she was unable to go on exchange during her studies due to the pandemic, this did not stop her from achieving her goals. Upon completing her degree, she spent eight months teaching English in New Caledonia. Following this experience, she worked as a program coordinator in Tokyo for several months, fulfilling her dream of living in Japan.
