While studying on the IFSA Summer in Rome program and taking the Sustainable Tourism class, students engaged in activities and excursions which deepening their exposure to Italian culture and history.

During one activity, students volunteered with the Retake Roma organization. Retake Roma conducts neighborhood events promoting sustainability and a better quality of life for locals and visitors.

The Rome Botanical Garden is the ideal place to take a break from all the monuments, churches, and archaeological ruins of Rome. Students discovered this serene space showcasing an incredible variety of plants and flowers, waterfalls, and silence.

On an excursion to the Baths of Caracalla, students explored the majestic ruins of the ancient Roman thermal baths complex. Not only an archaeological must-see, the complex is also used today as a stage for opera, ballet, and theater performances.

All four students studied on the IFSA Summer in Rome program in 2024.
