Abuzar S. (He/him) | Davidson College | Psychology | University of Oxford, Lady Margaret Hall Partnership in England.

“I’m from Jhang which is a small city in the heart of Punjab, Pakistan. Ever since I was little, University of Oxford was one of very few names that everyone knew about. There was prestige and legacy attached with it, and there still is; it made my parents very happy to know that I had gotten accepted into this program. Lady Margaret Hall, in particular, has a good bit of history with Pakistan having produced our only female prime minister Benazir Bhutto as well as our Nobel Laureate Malala Yousafzai. I’m super excited to travel all over Europe and meet new friends!”

Andreia S. (She/her) | Trinity College (Conn.) | Public Policy & Law, and Urban Studies | University of Edinburgh Partnership in Scotland.

“To be quite honest, the surrounding environment and atmosphere of Edinburgh reminded me of movies like Harry Potter, Twilight, and Outlander. I’ve traveled to many places before, but none that look like that. As an open and outgoing person, I wanted to immerse myself in a new place and culture that reminded me of those iconic movies of my childhood! I’m hoping to talk to many new people, spend lots of time outdoors, and travel to other parts of Ireland and England.”

Brian H. (He/him) | University of Michigan | Computer Science | IFSA Tech Career Accelerator in Prague, Czech Republic.

“I chose the Tech Career Accelerator in Prague because it offers the chance to immerse myself in a new environment, while continuing to explore the intersections of technology & cognition. I’m especially excited to connect with new perspectives and challenge myself to grow beyond the classroom through cultural experiences.”

Eden D. (She/her) | University of Puget Sound | Biology Major and Economics Minor | Victoria University of Wellington Partnership in New Zealand.

“I chose the IFSA program to be in Wellington, NZ, because I wanted to use this opportunity to travel somewhere I had never been and that I did not know much about. When I heard about New Zealand, I decided to apply because of the nature, the university, and the ocean! I am most excited to get an immersive experience from my time abroad. I have already met so many new people from all over the world and have learned so much about New Zealand culture. I am hoping to grow and learn more about myself as well!

Nola B. (They/them) | Wesleyan University | Sociology | IFSA Mérida Universities Partnership in Mexico.

“I chose the IFSA Mérida program because I wanted to immerse myself in a Spanish speaking country. The immersion involved in a homestay and classes in Spanish at UADY and Modelo University offered the perfect opportunity. I also liked the wide variety of options available within the program, for classes, excursions, and things to do in a beautiful Latin American city.

Sofía B. (She/her) | Amherst College | Biology and Spanish | Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú Partnership in Peru.

“I chose the IFSA Perú program because I want to improve my Spanish and immerse myself in a new country with incredible culture, gastronomy, landscapes, and more. I am most excited to live with a local host family and explore some of Perú’s natural beauty such as hiking the Salkantay Trail.”
