Prizes: Twenty (20), $500 flight vouchers and $500 grants will be awarded to IFSA students to be used only toward an IFSA Spring 2024 program. Upon acceptance into an IFSA program and the signing of your IFSA Student Acceptance Agreement, instructions will be sent on how to book your flight with our partner provider, Student Universe, using the travel grant voucher. The voucher cannot be disbursed as cash, or in any other form other than a credit voucher through Student Universe for payment toward student travel expenses specifically to and from an IFSA program. The $500 grant will be distributed via PayPal upon arrival in your host country. Neither the travel voucher nor the grant can be transferred to another semester, a non-IFSA program, or individual. Study in Shanghai Programs: $750 Travel Voucher Grant

Whether you’re keen to build your business acumen, take your Mandarin skills to the next level, or you’re simply curious about a culture thousands of years in the making, China won’t disappoint.

Attend a Fall Study Abroad Fair and Win a $500 Travel Voucher

Fall is Study Abroad Fair time on campus. Attend your school’s Study Abroad Fair, visit the IFSA table, and sign-up to receive more information from IFSA using the special QR code. A $500 travel voucher good toward travel to an IFSA Spring 2024, Summer 2024, or Fall 2024 program will be awarded to one student at each participating Study Abroad Fair.

Equity Scholarship: University of Sydney

The University of Sydney, IFSA, and the Fund for Education Abroad have partnered to offer two Equity Scholarships, each valued up to $10,000, to study abroad at the University of Sydney for a 2024 semester. Each scholarship includes a education fee grant of up to $7,500 and a travel grant of up to $2,500. For the Spring 2024 term, submit your scholarship application on the FEA website by Sept. 20, 2023 at 12 p.m. Eastern. Please see the application instructions and contact your IFSA Enrollment Counselor with questions.

State College or University Students: Win a $500 Travel Grant

If you are a state college or university student, apply to any IFSA Spring 2024 program by Oct. 1, 2023 and you will be automatically entered to win a $500 travel grant. Keep in mind, as a state student, you’re eligible for this travel grant on top of the $2,000 IFSA State School Grant, when you apply for any IFSA semester abroad program.

Entry Rules

  • Promotions are open to any eligible student who completes an IFSA application for eligible programs during the promotional period.
  • Eligibility for IFSA programs is outlined here and states:
    • Your home college or university must be in the U.S. or Canada. You must be an undergraduate student in good academic and disciplinary standing at a two-year or four-year college. Approval from your home institution may be required.
    • You must have completed at least one semester of college before participating in a study abroad program.
    • IFSA also accepts recent graduates or students seeking graduate degrees, however only undergraduate credit can be earned. Approval from your home institution may be required.
    • You must meet the requirements of the host institution such as GPA minimums and language requirements.
  • The recipient has consented to their general information being shared as a winner, for example their first name, home institution, and major.
  • IFSA promotional offers cannot be combined.
  • IFSA reserves the right to withhold prizes for any reason.
  • IFSA’s decision on all matters relating to the prizes are final.

Upon Winning, Recipients Must Adhere to the Following

  • Once a prize is awarded, the recipient must provide confirmation of their full name, home institution, major of study.
  • The winner must complete their application by the posted deadline for their program of choice. As an applicant, the recipient is subject to all IFSA policies and procedures surrounding the application process with IFSA and/or the host institution.
