Biography

Danielle Scugoza is the Senior Associate Director of Affiliated Programs in the Office of Global Education (OGE) at Georgetown University. In her role, Danielle provides administrative and programmatic oversight of study abroad activities, manages and mentors the OGE Advising team, oversees the program development and review procedure, and cultivates and maintains Georgetown’s institutional partnerships.

International education has been Danielle’s educational and professional focus for more than 15 years. Prior to joining Georgetown in 2018, she began her career at Arcadia’s College of Global Studies and then spent nearly a decade at the University of Pennsylvania. She is an engaged member of the education abroad community, regularly presenting at conferences and serving on advisory councils, committees, and working groups. She is committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in education abroad, with a professional mission to increase access and decrease barriers.

Danielle is a first-generation college student and has studied in Mexico, Spain, The Netherlands, and France. She holds an Master of Art in International Education from New York University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies from the University of Texas at Austin.
