IFSA “Bring a Friend” Grant Promotion — Terms and Conditions
YOU HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY GRANT. THIS PROMOTION (“PROMOTION”) IS NOT EXCLUSIVE TO YOU. To participate in this Promotion and be considered for the Grant, you must fully apply to, be accepted into, pay program fees for, and physically commence an eligible IFSA January 2027 program. THE GRANT IS CONDITIONAL UPON ENROLLMENT AND ACTIVE PARTICIPATION IN THE PROGRAM. If you do not enroll in and commence the program, you will not receive the Grant.
To participate in this Promotion, you must agree to and abide by these Official Terms. The Promotion is void where prohibited by law. THE GRANT IS SUBJECT TO ALL FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL LAWS (AND APPLICABLE AUSTRALIAN COMMONWEALTH AND STATE LAWS). VOID WHERE PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED BY LAW.

1. Sponsor/Promoter
Institute for Study Abroad, Inc. (“IFSA” or “Sponsor”), 6201 Corporate Drive, Suite 200, Indianapolis, IN 46278, or Email studyabroad@ifsa-butler.org.
2. Eligibility
Open only to legal residents of Australia who are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry and are currently enrolled and in good academic standing at an accredited Australian post-secondary institution.
Employees, officers, and directors of Sponsor, its affiliates, and members of their immediate households are not eligible. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.
Sponsor may require proof of current enrollment at an accredited Australian post-secondary institution and good academic standing.
Participants: (i) agree to be bound by and comply with these Official Terms and by the interpretations of them by IFSA; and (ii) release and hold harmless IFSA from all claims arising from participation in the Promotion (including without limitation, any activities related to acceptance and/or use of a Grant), and/or from participants’ acceptance, receipt, use, or misuse of a Grant.
3. Promotion Period
The Promotion Period begins on June 30, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. AET and ends on November 15, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. AET. Sponsor’s server is the official time-keeping device.
4. How to Participate
(a) Standard Participation. During the Promotion Period you may participate by:
- (i) Submitting a complete application to an IFSA January 2027 program by the published application deadline; and
- (ii) Notifying your assigned IFSA Enrollment Counselor in writing (via email or otherwise) of the referred friend’s full name, email address, and the identical program to which they have applied.
Each properly submitted referral notification that meets all eligibility requirements constitutes one (1) qualifying referral for the purposes of this Promotion.
(b) Referral Limits. Limit one (1) qualifying referral per referrer. In the event of a dispute, the referral is deemed to have been made by the authorized account holder of the email address used.
(c) Authorization Required. By notifying IFSA of a referral, the referrer represents and warrants that they have obtained the referred friend’s explicit consent to share their personal information with IFSA for the purpose of this Promotion.
5. Grant Details
Bring a Friend Grants (Qualifying pairs): Each participant (referrer and referred friend) who meets all eligibility requirements will receive a $500 USD grant to be applied toward the IFSA January 2027 program in which both are enrolled.
The verifiable retail value of each Grant is $500 USD.
Terms Applicable to Grants:
- Both students must apply by the original published IFSA application deadline. No deadline extensions will be granted to qualify for this offer.
- Grants are non-transferable and may not be redeemed for cash.
- Sponsor may substitute a Grant of equal or greater value if necessary.
- A Grant may be claimed only by individuals who have completed an IFSA program application, been accepted by IFSA, and remain enrolled in IFSA at the time the Grant is used.
- Grants can be applied to an IFSA January 2027 program only.
- The Grant will be disbursed once both participants are onsite and have actively commenced the program. If either participant fails to arrive onsite or withdraws before arrival, neither participant will receive the Grant.
- Both the referrer and the referred friend must apply to, be accepted into, and participate in the exact same IFSA January 2027 program.
6. Grant Notification & Disbursement
Sponsor will confirm eligibility of qualifying referrals within 14 days after the Promotion Period ends. Eligible participants will be notified by email and/or phone.
Tax notice: Participants are responsible for all taxes associated with receipt of the Grant and should consult their financial-aid office or tax professional about possible impacts on aid awards or tax obligations.
7. Limitation of Liability
Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, damaged, or misdirected referral notifications; technical malfunctions; or any injury or damage to persons or property. Participants release Sponsor, its affiliates, and their officers, employees, and agents from any liability arising from participation or Grant use.
Sponsor is not liable for carrier acts, delays, or governmental actions.
Sponsor is not responsible for any disputes, agreements, or arrangements made privately between the referrer and the referred friend.
8. Disputes
This Promotion is governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. By participating, each participant agrees that any and all disputes, claims, or causes of action arising out of or connected with this Promotion or the awarding of Grants shall be resolved exclusively through final and binding arbitration, rather than in court, in accordance with the rules and procedures of the American Arbitration Association (AAA). The arbitration shall be conducted before a single, neutral arbitrator and shall take place in the State of Indiana. This agreement to arbitrate includes all claims arising from or relating to these Official Terms, the Promotion, or its termination, whether based in contract, tort, statute, regulation, or any other legal theory. The arbitrator shall have exclusive authority to resolve any dispute relating to the formation, enforceability, interpretation, or scope of this arbitration agreement. All aspects of the arbitration, including but not limited to any discovery, hearings, filings, and awards, shall be conducted on a confidential basis, except as required by law or for disclosures made to the parties’ legal, accounting, or professional advisors. No party shall bring or maintain any suit in any court except for a claim to confirm, enforce, vacate, modify, or correct the arbitrator’s award, or to seek preliminary injunctive relief in aid of arbitration.
BY PARTICIPATING IN THIS PROMOTION, PARTICIPANTS ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THEY ARE WAIVING THE RIGHT TO A TRIAL BEFORE A JUDGE OR JURY in any legal proceeding related to this Promotion or these Official Terms.
9. Privacy Policy & Data Use
Information provided is subject to IFSA’s Privacy Policy at https://ifsa-butler.org/privacy-policy/ and will be used to administer this Sweepstakes and communicate about IFSA study-abroad opportunities.
10. General Terms
(a) Platform Disclaimer. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, or X.
(b) Severability & Headings. If any provision is held invalid, the remainder remains in effect; headings are for convenience only.
(c) Force Majeure. Sponsor may cancel, suspend, or modify the Sweepstakes if it cannot run as planned due to pandemic, natural disaster, government restriction, war, or other force-majeure event.
(d) Reservation of Rights. Sponsor may disqualify anyone tampering with the entry process or violating these Rules and may cancel or amend the Promotion if compromised.
(e) Combination with Other Offers. Unless explicitly approved by IFSA, this Bring a Friend Grant cannot be combined with other IFSA scholarships, need-based grants, or discounts.
(f) Exchange Rates. If the Grant is issued in USD and subsequently converted to AUD, IFSA is not responsible for fluctuations in foreign exchange rates.
