Scholarships
IFSA is deeply committed to making study abroad accessible to as many students as possible. We believe that cost should never be a barrier: that’s why we offer financial support to a larger proportion of IFSA students than any other organization.
IFSA First-in-Family University Student Scholarship
This scholarship provides first-in-family university students a chance to benefit from the life-changing experience of studying abroad. First-in-family university students are those for whom neither parent or custodial guardian have a three- or four-year undergraduate degree. This achievement-based scholarship program offers first-in-family university students significant financial, academic, and preprofessional support for study abroad on a January Term or Winter Term IFSA program.
Awards: Up to $1,333 AUD ($1,000 U.S.) for January Term and Winter Term programs.

IFSA General Scholarship
This need-based scholarship program offers students financial support for study abroad on a January Term or Winter Term IFSA program.
Awards: $740 AUD ($500 U.S.) for January Term and Winter Term programs.

IFSA Student Marketing Correspondents
Like the idea of inspiring other Australian students to go overseas with stories from your experience? As an IFSA Student Marketing Correspondent, you can earn money and gain professional skills to put on your resume while you share your adventures through photography, video, and digital storytelling.
To apply: All students who submit an IFSA study abroad application will get an email invitation to apply. This is a competitive award with limited spots.
Financial aid
OS-HELP: These government loans provide funds to help students cover the cost of overseas study, including travel and living costs. Funding is awarded directly from your University to you upon approval of your eligibility.
Process: Submit an OS-HELP application through your Australian university’s overseas study department. Each university manages its own application and selection procedures; deadlines vary.
