Hone Your Storytelling Skills While You’re Abroad
Love storytelling and inspiring others? Apply to be a Marketing Correspondent. Applications open in November for Spring and June for Fall.
As an IFSA Marketing Correspondent, you can:
- Share your story. Document your unique study abroad journey and inspire future students through creative storytelling.
- Get featured. Your content—whether written, photo, or video—will be showcased on IFSA’s website and social media platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
- Build your resume. Gain real-world experience in content creation, marketing, and digital storytelling—skills that stand out to future employers.
- Earn a stipend. Receive a $1,000 stipend for your contributions while studying abroad.

Who We’re Looking For
Video Creators: Capture your study abroad experience through creative videos for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube—showcasing everything from campus life to cultural adventures. Build your portfolio, get featured on IFSA’s social media accounts, and inspire future students!
Photographers: Visually tell the story of your time studying abroad through original, high-quality photography. You’ll capture key moments—from academics and cultural exchange to daily life and travel. See your work featured on IFSA’s social media accounts and website.


Position Requirements
We require Marketing Correspondents to submit a variety of content throughout the term, as well as a final project. Here’s an example of content you may be required to submit:
- Photos and photo essays with captions
- 1-2-minute short-form social media videos
- 3-6-minute long-form YouTube videos
- Written blog posts for IFSA Student Stories

How to Apply
Applications open in November for Spring and June for Fall. Students must submit the following information to be considered:
- Indicate your name, pronouns, IFSA program and location, home university and social media handles.
- Resume that outlines your relevant skills and experience.
- Personal statement (no more than 500 words) which addresses the following:
- How your content could contribute to IFSA’s Inclusive Excellence values.
- How your work as a Marketing Correspondent would enhance your personal or professional development and/or your experience abroad.
- Any financial need you may have that this award would help alleviate (optional).
- Examples of content you have created, whether written, captioned photography, and/or videography, etc. Example: A link to or snapshot of a captioned social media post. All must be your original work.
- Short video clip of you speaking. Can be from a school project or a short clip introducing yourself.
