Short-Term Study Abroad
IFSA provides study abroad during three-week Summer programs (January Term) and four-week Winter program (June-July).
Opportunities are open to students of all year levels and all fields. No previous knowledge is required and all classes are taught in English (well, except for some language class offerings).
Summer options include:
- Ecology and Sustainable Development in Costa Rica
- Mayan Culture and Civilization in Mexico
- Italian Art, Power, and Influence in Rome
Winter options include:
- Mental Health or Human Rights in Argentina
- Programs at the University of Oxford and Queen Mary, University of London in England
- Irish studies and Ecology in Ireland
- Chinese Language in Shanghai, China
- And so many more options and locations

Scholarships
IFSA is deeply committed to making study abroad accessible to as many students as possible. We believe that cost should never be a barrier: that’s why we offer financial support to a larger proportion of IFSA students than any other organization.
IFSA First-in-Family University Student Scholarship
This scholarship provides first-in-family university students a chance to benefit from the life-changing experience of studying abroad. First-in-family university students are those for whom neither parent or custodial guardian have a three- or four-year undergraduate degree. This achievement-based scholarship program offers first-in-family university students significant financial, academic, and preprofessional support for study abroad on a January Term or Winter Term IFSA program.
Awards: Up to $1,333 AUD ($1,000 U.S.) for January Term and Winter Term programs.

IFSA General Scholarship
This need-based scholarship program offers students financial support for study abroad on a January Term or Winter Term IFSA program.
Awards: $740 AUD ($500 U.S.) for January Term and Winter Term programs.
