Headshot of Kevin McNamara

“Study abroad is an immersive experience that promotes intercultural understanding and personal resilience. It supports students by developing the skills necessary to navigate both the challenges in higher education and in life. It is a privilege to support and guide our students in this journey.”

Education

Kevin graduated from the University of Limerick with a degree in English literature and history. Kevin followed on from this interest in the humanities with a Masters in European History and a Ph.D. in German History and Diplomacy from the University of St. Andrews. Kevin is also a former fellow of the Leo Baeck Institute (London).

Travel Experience

In the first half of 2008, Kevin taught English to children from all over Barcelona as part of his undergraduate degree. Within days of the school year ending, he left for Chicago as part of a study abroad program. It was this year away that started a lifelong passion for living and working in different European countries such as Italy, Germany, Austria, France, and now Scotland.
